What is Pressure Mapping?
Pressure mapping is a clinical tool used to assess the distribution of pressure between a person's body and their seating surface. Using a highly sensitive sensor pad placed on the power wheelchair cushion, we can visualize areas of high pressure in real-time on a computer screen.
This objective data allows our RESNA certified ATPs and clinicians to make precise adjustments to seating systems, select the optimal cushion materials, and educate users on effective pressure relief techniques.
- Real-time visual feedback of pressure distribution
- Objective data to support equipment justification
- Identification of asymmetrical sitting postures
- Evaluation of different cushion materials and designs
